National, 19th May 2026: Oyster Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd, a C&I-focused renewable energy solutions provider, and Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd today announced the setting up of a 31.6 MW solar-wind hybrid renewable energy project in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh, marking a significant milestone in Oyster Renewable’s growing portfolio of large-scale industrial decarbonisation projects.
Developed by Oyster Renewable with an investment of approximately ₹270 crore, the project integrates 21.6 MW of wind and 10 MW of solar capacity. This co-located hybrid configuration ensures more stable and balanced renewable energy profile for industrial consumption. The project is expected to be commissioned in 2027.
Commenting on the development, Siddharth Bhatia, Managing Director & CEO, Oyster Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd, said:
“This project marks a significant addition to Oyster Renewable’s track record of delivering utility-scale hybrid assets for India’s industrial sector, while enabling Dalmia Cement to abate significant carbon emissions annually and advance its sustainability commitments. Heavy industries like cement are among the hardest to decarbonise, and hence, critical to address. This project is expected to reduce carbon emissions by ~70,000 metric tonnes annually and marks a step towards our goal of building 3.5 GW of hybrid renewable capacity by 2030, backed by a planned investment of ₹30,000 crores. We value this partnership with Dalmia Cement, a company with one of the lowest CO₂ footprints in the global cement sector.”
On this milestone, Mr. Dharmender Tuteja, CFO, Dalmia Bharat Ltd.”
“This project marks another important milestone in Dalmia Cement’s renewable energy journey and reinforces our commitment to our aspiration of becoming carbon negative by 2040. The 31.6 MW hybrid power project will reduce nearly 70,000 MT of CO₂ emissions annually, directly strengthening our plant-level carbon efficiency and sustainability metrics. This partnership with Oyster Renewable will further accelerate our decarbonisation roadmap.”
Oyster Renewable’s hybrid model – co-locating solar and wind at scale – is increasingly central to India’s industrial decarbonisation agenda. Partnerships such as this one demonstrate how purpose-built renewable infrastructure can deliver reliable, cost-competitive clean power to energy-intensive industries.
In line with Oyster’s development philosophy, the project incorporated local workforce participation and regional supply-chain engagement, ensuring that clean energy infrastructure also generates lasting economic value for communities in the Kandi Village region of Andhra Pradesh.
