16 turbines, 52.8 MW, ₹385 crore now operational in Dayapar
National, 5th August 2026: Oyster Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd, a tailored hybrid renewable energy solutions provider for commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers, today announced the commissioning of 52.8 MW of wind capacity in Dayapar, Gujarat, developed for Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL), India’s leading stainless-steel manufacturer, with commercial operation declared on 30th July 2026. The milestone marks Oyster Renewable’s entry into the state and the second phase of the 99 MW Gujarat wind component of the 315.6 MW solar-wind hybrid project Oyster is developing for JSL, which spans 216 MW in Madhya Pradesh and 99 MW in Gujarat.
The 16 turbines represent an investment of approximately ₹385 crore, part of the ₹725 crore earmarked for the full 30-turbine Gujarat wind facility. Overall project investment stands at over ₹2,000 crore, of which ₹132 crore is committed by JSL.
The facility has been certified compliant with the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission’s Indian Electricity Grid Code, 2023, along with CEA Technical Standards for Connectivity and Communication and Central Electricity Authority safety regulations, confirming its readiness for commercial operation.
Siddharth Bhatia, Managing Director & CEO, Oyster Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd, said:
“This marks Oyster’s entry into Gujarat, and this second phase of commissioning takes our wind capacity in the state a step closer to full completion. Gujarat’s strong wind resource makes this a valuable addition to the project’s generation mix, and once fully operational, this facility is expected to avoid close to 92,000 metric tonnes of carbon emissions annually. It’s a significant step towards our target of a 3.5 GW pipeline. We remain on track to bring the remaining capacity online as planned.”
The remaining 14 turbines are expected to be commissioned progressively, taking the Gujarat facility to full capacity and strengthening the renewable backbone supporting JSL’s decarbonisation goals.
